About Me

Hi! I’m Nayeli—although some of my clients know me as Mukira. 🙊 The name Mukira, meaning “woman,” comes from the Tarahumara tribe in Chihuahua, Mexico, where my roots lie and where my heart will always call home. ❤️ Since 2019, I’ve been living in Utrecht with my amazing husband and our beautiful daughter, who inspires me daily to be the best version of myself.

 

My journey into the world of nails began in 2011 in Dallas, Texas, where regular visits to my nail technician Tammy sparked a love for the art of nails. Fast forward to 2017, while living in India 🇮🇳, I faced a lack of options for maintaining my beloved long nails. This inspired me to take matters into my own hands—quite literally—and learn the craft.

 

Returning to Mexico, I started mastering nail techniques as a personal passion, which soon turned into a profession. In 2019, life brought me to the Netherlands 🇳🇱, where I initially planned to restart my career in real estate and marketing. But life had other plans—challenges, a global pandemic, and the joy of pregnancy shifted my focus. Inspired by the strong women in my family, I launched Mukira as a way to combine my creativity with my desire for independence.

 

On my professional journey, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to learn and train with some of the best in the nail industry. My studies have taken me to Spain, where I attended top academies to perfect advanced techniques and gain the qualifications to teach others. I’ve also completed specialized training in helping clients with onychophagia (nail-biting recovery), as well as courses in biosafety, disinfection, and sterilization to ensure I provide the safest, most secure services possible.

 

Through these experiences, I’ve learned that nail artistry is about so much more than following trends or creating “cute nails.” It’s about understanding that not all products work for everyone, knowing the risks of using improper materials, and continuously striving to offer services tailored to each client’s unique needs.
